Last night’s Nerd Night was a smashing success indeed. With attendance tipping 100+ students, faculty, staff; alumni, grads and undergrads there was a great range of interest groups and excitement for the presentations.
There was a lot shared; here are some of the highlights.
Devon Miller LDAR’10 told us about the upcoming events of the RISD demo garden: there will be a screening of Food Inc. next Wednesday 7pm and a meeting Thursday 5-7pm in the Nature Lab. Check out their new website at risddemogarden.blogspot.com and look forward to spring seed bomb workshops!
We learned about McRAD- RISD Metcalf, Catering, Retail and Dining whom C.A.R.E.S. about greening their products and services- like new eco-friendly spray fixatives. They are having a drop-in and decorate event this Saturday from 1-4pm in the Met where you can frost cookies that will be donated to the children at the RI food bank.
There was great food courtesy of Nice Slice; music thanks to our DJ; and a light show- thanks to the Tap room. We have tentatively planned two more Nerd Nights for March and April; if you are interested in presenting email us at info (at) respond-design (dot) org!
